Glossary of Terms


A


Affiliation

In relation to the General Social Security Scheme, the administrative act by which the General Social Security Treasury recognizes the status of inclusion in the Social Security System for a person who, for the first time, performs an activity determining their inclusion within its application scope.


Seniority

This refers to the period of time worked by an employee at a company, from the start of their employment relationship. 


B


Tax Base

With regard to invoices, this is the amount on which certain taxes are calculated.


Forced Regulatory Base

It is calculated by dividing the contribution base of the month prior to the leave by 30 days if the worker has a monthly salary. In this case, if the worker has just joined a company, it will be necessary to force it, if there is no historical record of monthly fees.


Biostar

Name given to the security platform linked to Endalia, web-based, open and integrated, providing comprehensive functionality for employee access, time, and attendance control. 


Bonus

These are deductions in the fee resulting from applying certain percentages to it, aimed at reducing companies' Social Security costs and enhancing market access for certain groups.


BPO

Acronym for Business Process Outsourcing; which involves subcontracting service providers either internally or externally to the company, to save time and costs.


C


Waiting Period

Relative to a period; it is the waiting time that elapses from when a service, a policy, etc. is contracted until they can be used.


Category

Classification intended to group expenses of the same type or nature.


Collective

Refers to a group of people responsible for the different approval flows that make up expense notes.


Competencies

Competencies are understood as all the skills a collaborator possesses to successfully carry out a job or task.


Ad Personam Supplement

This depends exclusively on the worker's condition and objective situation (languages, age, specific skills, etc.).


CRA

Acronym for "Paid Remuneration Concepts". According to the Government of Spain, they constitute "the set of amounts of remunerations, in cash or in kind, paid by employers to their workers regardless of their inclusion in the contribution base and even if unique bases apply, classified by remuneration concepts". 



D


Accrual

On the payroll, it refers to the total income generated by an employee in a month; that is, their gross salary, before deductions are made.


E


Employee

A worker that is part of a company's workforce and, therefore, the minimum management entity to which the rest of the processes are linked.


Active Employees

These are those who, at the present time, are part of the organization's staff.


Historical Employees

All employees who, before the present time, were part of the organization but today are not included in the staff.


External Employees

Refers to all those workers who, without being part of the organization's staff, perform tasks for it.


ENPS

Employee Net Promoter Score, by its acronym in English. In relation to surveys, this term refers to the metrics used to measure the level of satisfaction and loyalty of employees towards their company, and whether they recommend working there. 


Organizational Structure

Name given to the hierarchy of positions that make up a company. In it, organizational units, positions, employees occupying them, and dependencies between them are represented. This hierarchy will be determined by colored geometric figures where the greater number of sides indicates higher importance in the organizational scale.



F


FIE

It is called this way by the extension of the file included in the message through which the INSS communicates to the RED system users information about the variations in Social Security benefits experienced by their workers.


Digital Signature

A set of data associated with a message that allows the unmistakable verification of the identity of the signer, as well as the integrity of the message.


Form of Liquidation

Process by which a worker's expenses are paid; it can have different types (payment via remit, payroll credit, cash, etc.).



H


Schedule

Time during which an action or a work activity is regularly developed. Here it is understood, in addition, as the sum of shifts.



I


Temporary Disability

It is the temporary situation in which an employee finds themselves when they cannot work and needs assistance from social security. Requires medical assistance from Social Security. A prior contribution period is needed, except in cases of accident or occupational disease.


Incidents

Time during which an action or a work activity is regularly developed. Here it is understood, in addition, as the sum of shifts.


IRPF

Income Tax for Individuals, which the state charges to all those residing in Spain, or contributing in that country.


ITA

"Report of employees on record." Associates workers with a specific CCC, to modify or correct their data in relation to those available in TGSS.


Iteration

Number of times a process is repeated to optimize results. In the case of surveys, this term refers to the repetition of the same over determined periods of time, aimed at obtaining different metrics.


K


KPI

Key performance indicator ("key performance indicators," in English). They are used to measure the success of a particular process or business initiative. 


M


Tax Model

Refers to the different forms of payment by the taxpayer to the Spanish state. Currently, there are 206 models available.


Monitoring

Observe the course of one or more business parameters in order to follow up or detect anomalies, as well as perform control tasks.



N


Expense Report

Element that allows entering one or more expenses into the software; then, it goes through an approval and closing process to manage payments.


Novation

Consists of replacing a previous obligation with a new one.


O


Objectives

Element that allows entering one or more expenses into the software; then, it goes through an approval and closing process to manage payments.


Offboarding

It is understood as the process of detaching an employee from the company for which they work, by carrying out actions aimed at preserving a good corporate culture and respect towards the outgoing employee.


Onboarding

In contrast to offboarding, it is understood as the process of incorporating an employee into their new company. This process can consist of several steps, in order to facilitate the transition of the worker to both their new work environment and the tasks to be performed.



P


Pay Out

Time space during which an action is developed, around which various processes, such as vacations, absences, etc., are articulated.

Period

Time space during which an action is developed, around which various processes, such as vacations, absences, etc., are articulated.

People Without User

All workers who are part of an organization but do not have access authorizations to the software or telematic applications of that organization.


Potential

All workers who are part of an organization but do not have access authorizations to the software or telematic applications of that organization.


Position

Position occupied by an employee within the company's organizational structure.


Descending Position

It is said of those who are below others and, therefore, accompany the positions on which they depend (in descending order) in all actions to be performed. For example, if we want to duplicate a position, performing the action will replicate the position itself and all those that depend on it.


Generic Position

It is a position without location in the organizational structure or an assigned employee, but it shares the same attributes as a position. Its function is to create a template that serves to create one or more positions and, if required, cascade the attributes over positions within that structure or with an assigned employee.



R


Salary Review

Increase or decrease experienced by an employee's salary, based on their performance and the company's internal processes.


Role

Entities grouping permissions and visibility to perform specific functions in different environments. To enable a role, it must be linked to a user.



S


Section

Element used to define how objectives behave, and provides the framework on which they are based.


Social Security

Refers to the payments made by a company and its employees to Social Security each month, which are used for public benefit (healthcare, unemployment, etc.).


SMI

Minimum interprofessional wage. Minimum remuneration received by an employee for their work day.



T


Salary Table

Element used as a reference for the average salary of an employee in each sector.


Maximum Limit

 It is the allowed limit for expenses of a certain type. It can be categorized by amount (money) or by units (specific number of elements of the same type).


Tranche

These are the actual records added to the system. The difference between a tranche and a shift is that the former refers to the actual registration of time schedules, while the shift refers only to their planning.


Shift

 It is the minimum time planning unit that makes up a schedule (for example, a work shift from 8 to 15 h).

Organizational Unit

Term referring to the areas or departments that make up an organization, and that are integrated into its organizational structure.


Created Users

People who are part of the organization and also have the necessary permissions to use software or telematic tools associated with it.



W


Widget

A widget is a small application, program, or element designed to facilitate access to the most used functions of a device; for example, a shortcut button on the home page to record working hours more easily and quickly.


Workflows

It is understood as a set of activities or steps related to each other that must be completed in a specific order to achieve an objective within the company.
