How to use the Objectives Import Center

Modified on Thu, 1 Oct at 9:32 AM

The Import Center allows you to upload objectives in bulk using Excel files, both for general and individual plans. This article explains how it works and what to keep in mind to ensure a successful import.

How the import process works

The process always has two steps:

  1. Validation: the system checks that the file format is correct. If there are formatting errors, they are displayed on screen and the process does not continue.
  2. Execution: If validation is successful, the system processes the data in the background and creates or updates the plans and objectives.

ℹ️ Validation and execution are independent processes. A file may pass validation and encounter issues during execution. Always check the final result in the affected plans.

Import general objectives

  1. Go to Imports → Import Center.
  2. Select the active period in which you want to import.
  3. Download the general objectives template. Optionally, generate the template with pre-filled data for all active positions.
  4. Fill in the template with the objectives. Required fields: position code, objective name, type, growth, weight, and commitment date.
  5. Upload the file and run the validation.
  6. If validation passes, click Import data.

What the general import does:

  • If the general plan for that position and period already exists → adds the objectives to the existing plan
  • If it does not exist → creates the general plan and adds the objectives

File requirements:

  • The position code must exist in the system
  • The data type of the indicators must be consistent with the objective type
  • The sum of weights per category and position cannot exceed 100

Import individual objectives

  1. Go to Imports → Import Center.
  2. Select the active period.
  3. Download the individual objectives template. Optionally, generate the template with data for all active employees with job changes during the period dates.
  4. Fill in the template. Required fields: employee code, identification document number, objective name, type, growth, category, weight, and commitment date.
  5. Upload the file and run the validation.
  6. If validation passes, click Import data.

What the individual import does:

  • If the individual plan for that employee and period already exists → adds the objectives to the existing plan
  • If it does not exist → creates the individual plan and adds the objectives

File requirements:

  • The employee code and document number must exist in the system
  • The employee-position relationship must be active
  • If the position code field is left blank, the system assigns the employee's main position as of the period date.

Best practices

  • Always use the template downloaded directly from the Import Center for the period in question. Do not reuse templates from previous periods.
  • Before a large import, test with a file with a few rows to validate that the period configuration is correct.
  • Split large files into smaller batches to ensure the execution completes successfully.
  • Perform imports with the period in active state.
  • After each import, check the result in the affected plans before continuing.

Frequently asked questions

❓ Can I import objectives in a historical period?

No. The period must be in active state to import.

❓ Does the import overwrite existing objectives?

No. The import adds objectives to existing plans; it does not overwrite them. If you need to replace objectives, you must delete them manually before importing.

❓ Can I import general and individual objectives in the same operation?

No. They are two independent imports with different templates.

❓ Does the import create the individual plan if the employee did not have one?

Yes, as long as the employee has an active employee-position relationship during the period dates.

❓ What if the process remains loading indefinitely?

Wait a few minutes—the execution runs in the background and may take time to complete depending on the volume. If there is no result after several minutes, contact support indicating the period and the file used.
